YCC Champ Show Dog Critiques
YORKSHIRE COLLIE CLUB CHAMP SHOW

Many thanks to the Club for the kind invitation to Judge at their Championship Show and to the Exhibitors for their entries. The Committee did a grand job and my Stewards kept the Ring running smoothly. Was pleased to see dogs of good size in the Ring today. All main winners blues – we have had dogs in all three colours in the past and if a dog is correct it should be pulled out whether it is s/w, tri or b/m.
BABY PUPPY DOG (1,0)
1.Rodwell’s, Pomnenka George of the Glen – 4 ½ month old blue merle. Raw baby who was not phased by the occasion. He was outgoing and handled with patience. Confident roly-poly baby.Wish him well for his future career.
VETERAN DOG (2,1)
1.Telford’s, Brilyn Born To Run For Glenbowdene – 7 ½ year old who I have judged as a puppy and young adult and pleased to see him again. Masculine S/w, who showed off his virtues. Moulded head and balanced throughout. Lovely dark eye and correct ear carriage. Moved okay.
MINOR PUPPY DOG (4,0)

2. Sibbald’s, By D’cossio Quiet Strength At Telforth (Sp Imp) –
Found out after Judging that these two were 8 month old litter brothers! Splitting hairs on 1st and 2ndplacings. My critique is all but identical for them both and is as follows: Both beautifully presented.Blue merle, great to see two masculine youngsters of good colour and size. I am sure they will change places throughout their careers. Well off for bone. Already they have a well-filled foreface, dark eyewith super ear carriage. Good size and balance to them. Sound in temperament. 1st taking the Class as he was slightly better on the move today with more extension, this is how close my decision was. Good luck in their future careers.

1.Green’s, Atirakin Luminary Nights – From Res in MPD – 6 ½ month old tricolour. First time showing for Handler and puppy. Confidence will come with Ringcraft and Practise. Good size to him, dark eye, pleasing expression. I’m sure he will show off his virtues more once schooled in stance. Well presented. Moved okay. All the best with him.
JUNIOR DOG (2,1)
1.Lockyer’s, Gataj Just Like Jesse James – S/w in his Summer Coat which was beautifully presented. Balanced head with a well placed stop and dark eye. Sweet expression. Correct ear placement. Good reach of neck, balanced throughout. Sound on the move. Feel he has lots of time on his side to mature.
MAIDEN DOG (1,0)
1.Blake’s, Corydon World Vision – From 3rd in MPD – Upstanding s/w youngster. Pleasing head and eye. Good reach of neck and presents a lovely profile. Good overall make and shape. Good length of tail. Moved well. Well presented.
GRADUATE DOG (1,0)
1.Penachio’s, Malounie’s Never Ending Story –Masculine, well-sized S/w with pleasing head and dark eye. Would have liked tighter ear-set. Good reach of neck. Good presentation. Moved okay.
POST GRADUATE DOG (2,0)
1. Telford’s, Ballhanna Ballad Singer At Glenbowdene – S/w, of good size and overall shape. Moulded head with dark eye, well placed stop. Lovely expression. Knew how to use his ears. Moved well. Well presented.
2. Edwards’, Beldones Mojito – Another Masculine S/w of good size. Lovely dark eye with a balanced head but would prefer more filling in foreface. Moved okay. Was a bit unsettled today.
LIMIT DOG (6,0)
1. Randall’s, Ladnar Call My Name JW –I called his name and he didn’t hear me – I called again and he gave me that expression and all fell into place! Blue merle of good colour and size. Clean in head with a well-placed stop and dark eye. Ears are correct, however not a showing fool. Correct scissor bite, good underjaw. In profile lovely reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Good spring of rib and depth of chest with a balanced ratio of height to length. Tail of good length. Sound on the move. Excellent presentation. I understand this award today gives him his Crown – Congratulations - DOG CC
2. Brooker’s, Corisian Parisian Magic – Upstanding masculine S/w. Balanced head, lovely dark eye. Would like more filling to foreface. Good reach of neck. Masculine in profile. Excellent presentation. Moved well.

1. Blakie’s, Kourika The ‘Gigolo’ – B/m, worthy Champion. Masculine. Lovely head planes, well placed dark eye, giving desired expression. Well set ears which he used to advantage. In good coat and body, correct colour. Good reach of neck, good shoulder angulation. Loved his profile. Moved well. Another with excellent presentation. RES DOG CC
2. Toogood’s, Hanvale Ralph Lauren JW - S/w, desired expression from correct dark eye, clean in head, neat ears. Lovely reach of neck, and outline. No coarseness or cloddiness. Overall shape good. Moved well. Well presented.
